Azzurro Glass Studio

About Azzurro Glass Studio
The studio name Azzurro is a coined word which has been derived from the fact that the owner “Azuma” made glass melting furnaces ( = “Ro” in Japanese).

In ancient Japan, glass was called as “Ruri” or “Hari”, which means lapis lazuli stones.
Meanwhile, in Italy where the culture of blown glass came into bloom, azzurro is a word referring to color blue. “Ruri” known by another term of glass also means beautiful blue row stones…

Without pursuing perfection too much, I would like to create pieces with strong presence, giving natural glow in the space.
